Weekend Meal Packs for Noblesville Schools Students

Fueled for School's flagship program is its weekly, weekend meal pack initiative. By 2020, we envision growing beyond Noblesville elementary schools to serve and educate middle and high school students. As we expand, we will leverage community partnerships to ensure our students are fueled for school through additional avenues -- such as improved sleep.

We collect: Fruit cups, microwave popcorn, chicken noodle soup, Mac and Cheese, granola bars, plastic jars of peanut butter, canned pasta sauce, dry pasta, shelf stable yogurt, and instant oatmeal packets.

Use the "Sign Up" button to the right to nominate a student to be considered as a weekend meal pack program recipient!

Healthy How-to Meal Videos

Beyond delivering meal packs, we aim to educate students in using meal pack staples to prepare simple, healthy meals. Members of the board will share short, 90-second clips talking students through meal preparation using foods found in their packs. These videos are a work in progress and may be unveiled sometime in winter 2018 -- stay tuned!

Food Justice Workshop Certification for High School Students

Sustainably fueling students for school goes beyond food delivery. Educating students on the importance of food justice, the language with which to discuss food security and food deserts, and equity in access to nutrition is vital for a structural, enduring response to food insecurity. Among other topics, these workshops will communicate the ways in which food inequity among families in Hamilton County unfairly imbalances children's cognitive performance, emotional well-being, and physical health.
